On about February 13th, while in a state of working at home to build strength needed for that final okay and listing for Transplant through the Cleveland Clinic I was once again brought to my knees with one of the most devastating attacks on my health.
I was taken to Bryan Hospital where once again the staff and Dr's. nursed me back to some semblance of health. Through the efforts of the Nurses in the Temporary Care unit my lungs were cleared and my strength brought back to where I was able to workout details of a plan to get this vital part of my Journey realigned and back on track to a successful conclusion.
The details of these plans and some remarkable events have brought us in a different direction than we were before. It is a bit of a slow down so I can perhaps go faster toward my goal.

Towards the end of the stay in Bryan we had been talking about getting what is called a Trachial Catheter installed to handle the O2 delivery to my lungs. Simply put it is a device that is about the same diameter of an ink pen cartridge. It is inserted at the base of the throat, below the voice box, but just above the ribcage. The O2 supply hose that is normally hooked into the nose canula is hooked into the Catheter and this way bypasses the sinuses and nasal passages.
This had been strongly suggested by the team in Cleveland and though not being required, at least offered as an option they thought I should consider. My Pulmonologist in Toledo was hesitant to do this as it is not a procedure that fits for everyone.
It came closer to the time when I and my kids knew some decision had to be made about what the next step would be. I could not stay in Bryan as that at best was a temporary solution, and the next step had to be taken.
Working with our care Physician in Bryan we attempted to make arrangements with my Pulmonologist in Toledo to arrange an appointment in the facility in Archbold were I normally saw him.
Unfortunately fate was to step in as he was thrown into a family emergency and had to leave the area. His associates who were then given the duties of treating me would be unable to arrange an appointment in Archbold, but an alternate was given where it required my transfer into the Toledo Facility where I would then be placed into to care.
One week after being admitted to Bryan I found myself being transfered to the Toledo facility, where I would spend the next week plus 2 days in the next level of my treatment
